My Goal
How and what I teach will vary to what the students goals are. If a student wants to study music in college I will adjust things toward preparing them for what is expected at a college level. If a student just wants to learn guitar for recreational use, I will teach them what they would like to know and give suggestions along the way if needed. Overall, I want the student to view their time behind the instrument as a time to get away from everything else. I do not believe motivation is driven by tough love and high expectations. I believe motivation is driven by encouragement and appreciation. I want students to walk away from a lesson feeling encouraged and appreciative of what they have learned. The main goal is to see a student fall in love with what he or she is learning. I will teach anyone of any age that is at any level of playing ability. My expertise is classical, folk, pop, rock, metal, blues, jazz and country.
